Audi, the German luxury carmaker, seems aggressive with its product expansion plans for the Indian market. The company will launch 10 cars next year, including major facelifts and all-new products. Audi India will launch Q3 facelift and the 2015 A6 facelift in India in early next year. Interestingly, the company has already imported the A6 facelift into India for homologation purpose at the Automotive Research Institute of India (ARAI). Both turbo petrol and diesel engine variants of the sedan have been imported in India.
The Audi A6 facelift, that arrives in India, is powered by a 1.8-litre TFSI motor, which is likely to replace the current 2.0L TFSI unit. This engine develops 175bhp of power and a torque of 250Nm. The engine is also available in a higher state of tunes - 188bhp and 320Nm of torque. The oil burner is the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder TDI turbocharged motor that churns out a maximum power output of 177bhp and 380Nm of peak torque. Both engines are coupled to a seven-speed DSG twin clutch automatic transmissions.
The new Audi A6 receives some exteriors and interiors updates. It gets a new front fascia with revised front grille flanked by matrix LED headlamps. The new bumper features a revised air dam and new fog lamps. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to new alloy wheels. The side sills are completely new while the rear gets new tail lamps with indicators. The other changes include new bumper and new tail pipe extensions. Inside the cabin, the updated sedan gets a larger infotainment system and better upholstery.
