Skoda Auto will be participating at the upcoming Moscow Auto Show starting from August 28 2010. It is ready to introduce the 2011 Octavia model along with its flagship model Skoda Laura. Skoda will be present with its complete portfolio for the Russian market including models like the attractive Fabia Sport (red body, white roof), the Octavia RS, the Octavia Combi Scout 4×4 and the Roomster.
Skoda Octavia is sold as Octavia Tour in the Russian market and the new model being showcased at the upcoming show will be a successor to the existing variant. It will be powered with 1.6L unit that might be available in diesel as well as petrol version. The model is likely to share it platform with the Polo sedan that has been introduced in India as VW Vento.
Apart from the new Octavia model, Skoda is also planning to introduce the hatchback variant of Skoda Fabia in the Russian market. Presently, Fabia is available as only sedan model on the Russian roads. The company is expected phase out Fabia sedan and re-introduce it as a hatchback or a station wagon model.
