      Mitsubishi Outlander to Become Expensive

      Mitsubishi Motors has a technical collaboration with Hindustan Motors in India. HM sells the Mitsubishi brands in the country, some prominent ones being Outlander and upcoming Evo X. Now Mitsubishi Motors is set to hike prices of its Outlander model in the country. It will be withdrawing its introductory offers and will hike the price by two percent. It introduced the new model at Rs. 19.95 lakh in May 2010 powered by 2.4L BS IV compliant engine which was cheaper by Rs. 70,000 than the older model.

      “We are going to increase the Outlander price, which was earlier an introductory one. It will be about two per cent and it will be from September 1,” Hindustan Motors Executive Vice-President and Business Head Vijay Kumar said. He also stated that the company hopes to sell 250 units this month. Mitsubishi has established their presence in India since 1998 through a JV with Hindustan Motors. The launch of their Evolution series of cars and SUV Pajero new variant has been put on hold looking at the rough times in the global auto market.
