General Motors seems to be planning to launch a new Chevrolet Captiva model. The car has been recently spied and the spy shots are doing rounds on the internet. Chevrolet Captiva is quite popular in the Indian market and has waiting period of anywhere from 30-60 days. The car is currently being imported as a completely built unit from its Korean manufacturing plant.
The new test mule spied reveals that the car has undergone serious cosmetic changes where the front grille gets inspired from Infinity model and the bumper is also newel designed. Interiors also seem to be refurbished along with other exterior changes like side mirrors and may be changed headlamps. There are also rumours that the new Chevrolet Captiva will be powered by the 2.2L diesel engine with more power and torque.
Automedia Belgium reports that the new Chevrolet Captiva may be introduced in the global market some time in the later half of 2010. The car is expected to hit the Indian shores only around Diwali 2011.
