In an untoward incident in one of South Korea's bridge near the Incheon International Airport has left 2 persons dead and about 60 people injured due to heavy fog conditions. The emergency workers have been working swiftly to rescue people from 100-cars pile-up on the 4,400-metre cross-sea bridge highway that connects the capital Seol to the airport. It is believed that situation arised sude to aggrevated thick fog and icy road conditions.
As per Byeon Tae-u of the Incheon Fire and Safety Management Department, eight of the people who have been rescued have been serious hurt and the numbers could likely be more as the rescue efforts continue. Lee Gyeong-hoon, a 39-year-old driver who survived the crash said he had been driving slowly as the fog prevented visibility beyond 10 meters ahead. He said, “I saw the brake lights of the car in front of me turn on and I stopped abruptly.” He stopped, but the vehicle trailing behind him rammed into his vehicle. Lee immediately opned the door and escaped to safety.
