Sedans are a treat for the eyes as well as ideal for all those who are looking for a great driving experience. The Indian market is teeming with a number of such sedans, which have become extremely popular. However, such is the break neck competition, that one sedan sometimes eats into the market of an existent contender. The scenario is almost the same with the launch of the new Maruti Swift Dzire, which is expected to override the markets of the Amaze.
The Honda Amaze is powered by a 1498 cc, 16V i-DTEC diesel engine, which is capable of mustering 98.6 bhp at the rate of 3600 rpm. The car is able to generate a twisting force of 200 Nm at the rate of 1750 rpm. Priced at a modest 8.2 lakhs INR, this car was quite popular in the Indian market. However, with the arrival of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, which is tagged at 7.8 lakhs INR, the car has witnessed some serious competition. This car is powered by a 1248 cc 16V DDiS diesel mill. It is capable to produce a maximum power of 74 bhp at the rate of 4000 rpm. The twisting force of this car is approximately 190 Nm at the rate of 2000 rpm. Both the cars come with a five-speed manual gearbox and are provided with FWD option.
When it comes to the efficiency of the cars, both of them are quite comparable. The city mileage of Amaze is 21 kilometres per litre, while Swift Dzire gives around 22.4 kilometres for a litre. On highways, it goes up to 25.8 kilometres for Amaze and 26.59 kilometres for Swift Dzire. The latter also has a fuel tank capacity of 42 litres, while the former is only 35 litres. It is expected that the new model will give some serious competition to the Honda Amaze.
