GM Plant workers at the company’s Halol plant had been on strike from the 29th October onwards and their production was stopped temporarily from last few days. Around 600 employees of GM had demanded hike in wages and they were on strike. GM Motors yesterday announced that they now expect the normal production to be continued from today onwards.

P Balendran, the Vice President of General Motors said to PTI, "We expect normal production to resume at the Halol plant from Monday. The workers staging a sit-in on the plant premises have gone back home yesterday. There has been no impact of the strike as our Talegaon plant has already been rolling out the two of the most sold small cars - ''Spark'' and ''Beat'',” . He also added, “GM India has sold around 83,909 units till September end in the country, out of which around 60,000 units were of small cars like Spark and Beat,"

An official person of General Motors said yesterday, “The state labor department officials and police visited the plant yesterday and held dialogue with the agitating workers following which they left for home,"

There are totally 900 workers at the plant producing 150 vehicles everyday in two shifts. The strike had led to production loss of 300 units.
