      The upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, scheduled to commence from 10th September, will play host to the unveiling and launch of new vehicles. At the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, major auto makers from across the world will showcase their concepts and designs apart from production cars. From super cars to innovative designs, the upcoming motor show in Frankfurt is expected to be an extravagant affair filled with several highlights.

      One of highlights of the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show will be German car manufacturer Audi's Quattro supercar concept. According to sources, the turbo-charged V8 engine might get an improved power output between 600 bhp to 650 bhp. Experts feel that the new powertrain will produce an exceptional performance that will power the car from 0 to 100 kmph in around 3 seconds. It is being said that Audi's rival, Mercedes-Benz, is planning to showcase the new S500 plug-in hybrid at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. This car is said to be more fuel efficient than the hybrid version of Range Rover and furthermore, the batteries of the car can be charged by plugging them onto the mains, a feature that is not found in Rang Rover hybrid. As claimed by the company, the new S500 hybrid can return a average of 94.2 mpg. These figures are more impressive when put into context with the fact that the car gives away the mileage while emitting just 69g/km of carbon dioxide.

      The other debut from Mercedes-Benz at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show will be its GLA compact crossover model. The car is designed on the lines of A-Class hatchback with an identical front fascia. In addition, back of the upcoming model has been given a typical shape of a crossover for a high-riding appeal. GLA crossover is expected to be offered in two and four wheel drive options and is likely to hit major international markets by the end of 2013.

      Ferrari too will be seen breaching the 600 bhp mark with its 458 Speciale model that will be making its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. As claimed by the sports car manufacturer, Speciale will be a performance oriented version of 458 that will have bear distinctive changes in the tuning section of the engine. The upcoming model of Ferrari gets the same 4.5-litre V8 engine as given in regular version of 458. It is said that this Ferrari can reach a speed of 100 kmph from 0 kmph in just 3 seconds. On the other hand, Ferrari's arch-rival, Lamborghini, is all set to unveil a super car concept at this motor show. Although nothing has been confirmed, rumours suggest that the company might replace the Gallardo model with this concept car in the future.

      Iconic car company BMW shall be seen unveiling the facelifted version of its electric car, i3. The car, built from lightweight carbon fibre material, will be the highlight for the company as far as product showcases are concerned. Apart from showcasing the new i3 concept car, BMW is reported to unveil the production ready model of the i8, a plug-in hybrid car. French auto maker Citroen is expected to unveil a new car named Grand C4 Picasso, derived from the new EMP2 platform and has a low CO2 emission level of 98kgpkm.
