Volkswagen Group, the world's renowned and much appreciated German auto maker, has announced its global annual sales figures and the numbers do look impressive. Regardless of the worldwide slowdown in auto industry, the company managed to reproduce its superlative form of last year and reported a 14.6 per cent surge in the number of units sold at 788,700 units during October 2012. Reportedly, Volkswagen Group had delivered some 688,000 units in the same month last year.

Evidently, the German auto maker Volkswagen Group has retailed some 7.5 million vehicles across the globe between January and October months of 2012, an increase of 10.2 per cent as against last year. During the same ten month period of last year, the company had delivered some 6.8 million vehicles worldwide.

The company recorded its best sales this year in the auto markets of North American countries, China and Russia. Even the sales registered in South American nations like Brazil, proved effective towards helping Volkswagen in recording such good growth results, when other car makers worked so hard in meeting their respective year-ago wholesale numbers. It has been revealed that the company has shipped over 842,200 units to South America, of which some 644,000 vehicles were delivered to consumers of Brazil.

Reportedly, the German auto maker recorded strong sales of over 2.56 million units in auto markets of Asia Pacific region, between the January and October months of 2012. Volkswagen Group has sold close to 2.26 million vehicles in Chinese market alone, while its sales in Indian auto market grew by 3.6 per cent at 94,900 vehicles during the first ten months of 2012, as compared to those recorded in same period last year.

The auto giant witnessed an overwhelming increase in demand of its products comprising Audi, Volkswagen Passenger and Commercial Cars, SEAT and Skoda brands from all the corners of globe. The January – October period of 2012 proved a shining light for the company, which is expected to retain its charm for upcoming months as well.
