In a bid to boost Cross Polo's sales in the Indian market, Volkswagen India is planning to give yet another facelift to the car by the end of this year.The Cross Polo, Volkswagen’s first ever crossover in India, received new Polo -inspired minor interior updates in 2014 and a petrol engine in January 2015. Now, a report claims that the company will introduce an updated version of crossover with minor styling alterations and new features.
Just so you know, the Volkswagen Cross Polo is based on the Polo hatchback, thus it shares design and elements with the latter.VW is now planning to add larger 16-inches wheels and advanced fitments to the crossover that will differentiate both the vehicles. The styling of updated model is likely to be inspired from its global model line-up.
While the features like dual-beam halogen headlamps with black finish, 'Cross' front grille with chrome accent, 'Cross' bumpers with silver accents, rear-view mirror housing and silver-painted roof rails might remain the same. Except for some additional features, the interior, might remain largely unchanged.
The new Cross Polo will continue to feature the existing engine lineup – a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TDI diesel and a 1.2-litre petrol. While the former develops a maximum power of 88.73bhp and 230Nm of torque, the latter delivers 74bhp and 110Nm. Mated with a 5-speed manual transmission, the diesel engine returns a maximum fuel economy of 20.14kmpl, while the petrol unit offers 16.47kml.
