      Vitara prices released in Europe - Set to hit Indian markets soon

      Suzuki has announced the price of its new production Vitara in the United Kingdom, the sales of which will begin from April. The prices of Vitara will begin from £13,999 (13.44 lakh INR approximately) for the base 1.6 litre variant and rises up to the £21,299 (20.44 lakh approximately) for the high-end 1.6-litre DDiS All-grip (AWD) diesel model in the UK. The model was unveiled during the Paris Motor Show last year and is based on the IV-4 concept. Maruti sells the Grand Vitara in the Indian markets and it is expected to enter the country in the first half of 2016.

      The name Vitara is more than 25 years old and the 2015 SUV have put an all-new design to it. Apart from this aspect, a number of add-ons have been installed like machined alloys, daytime-running LEDs and projector headlamps. The dashboard on the inside is a similar territory, however, there are contrast dashboard applique finishing in the European models. Apart from all these, the car gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which features navigation as well as smartphone integration.

      The airbags (seven airbags including driver’s knee airbag) and ABS take care of the primary safety features of Vitara. Apart from them, Vitara also offers light and impact absorbing body, brake-support system, speed limiter, ESP (Electronic-Stability Programme), adaptive cruise control and tyre pressure monitoring system.

      The new Vitara comes in both diesel as well as petrol models. The petrol model comes with a M16A 1.6-litre mill, which churns out 120 PS of power at the rate of 6000 rpm. The torque output of the car is 156 Nm at the rate of 4400 rpm. Mated with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with paddle shifting technology, this car is sure to get popular in the market. The diesel gets a D16AA 1.6-litre DDiS mill, which has an electronically controlled VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger). It is also provided with EGR (Exhaust-Gas-Recirculation) system. The oil burner produces 120 PS at the rate of 3750 rpm and a healthy torque output of 320 Nm at 1750 rpm.
