      Korean manufacturer Hyundai has been the strongest competitor to the India's top selling brand Maruti Suzuki. In recent times the compact SUV segment has gained a lot of popularity in the country owing to cars like Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster. Maruti Suzuki is reportedly working in launching its very own compact SUV named XA Alpha. To stay afloat in the competition, Hyundai Motor India Limited is working on launching the ix25 sometime soon. The Hyundai ix25 showcased at this year's Beijing Motor show is expected to make it to the Indian market. The vehicle has also been spotted undergoing road tests on numerous occasions.

      Details on the pricing aspect and launch date is not known for now, but it is believed that the vehicle may be priced in the Rs. 8.0 – Rs. 11.0 Lakhs segment. In the Chinese market the Hyundai ix25 is powered by four-cylinder 1.6 and 2.0-litre petrol engines. Internationally the ix25 compact SUV is available in automatic as well manual transmission. It is likely that the Indian version of Hyundai ix25 may receive 1.4-litre VTVT petrol engine that generates about 106 bhp of power with 135 Nm of torque, whereas the diesel version may be powered by . Apart from this, it is also expected that the Indian version may feature a four wheel drive option.

      The upcoming Hyundai ix25 compact SUV may carry the Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. The vehicle shall feature height of over 4 Meters to give it good clearance on the local road conditions. On the interiors, ix25 gets a large touchscreen infotainment system with reverse parking assist, redesigned three-spoke steering wheel, and black and beige color scheme. Post launch the Hyundai ix25 shall be a strong contender in the compact SUV segment.
