Being launched almost a decade ago, Wagon R still is able to steal a position in the top 3 sellers of Maruti Suzuki in India. With high demand and sales of this car in the country, the company is planning to launch a next generation variant of this hatchback model to woo the price sensitive Indian buyers.
The next generation WagonR will not just be available as a hatchback, but it is also being rumoured that a MPV variant of the same will also hit the markets by 2017. This will be the third generation variant of this car and will be offered as a 7-seater car accompanied with an option of a new diesel engine.
The Research and Development Team of Maruti Suzuki is already working on thier most efficient design. It is also being planned that the vehicle will be exported to the Indonesian market after its launch, where it will be rendered as a LCGC, Low Cost Green Car.
Besides this 7-seater Wagon R, Maruti Suzuki is working on various other variants set-up for launch in the coming years. A premium hatchback is lined up for the end of 2015 followed by a compact SUV in 2016, and an MPV in 2017. Maruti Suzuki is strongly hoping to build a tight grasp over the market with this line-up and can be on the top of the sales chart in the coming years. The company is a proud manufacturer of few of the bestselling cars of the country including the Swift and Alto K10, which were already refreshed in 2014.
Maruti Suzuki has always been an eye-catcher in the market with many of the variants have already been launched. The way they meet up the needs of the people is overwhelming. The next generation WagonR is also to meet up the requirements, and will be a 7-seater car but would come within the budget of the common man.
