Toyota Camry facelift launching on April 30, 2015- Report

Toyota, the Japanese automaker will launch the updated Camry sedan in the Indian car market on April 30, 2015. The current model is on sale in our market since 2012. The facelifted model of the car has already been launched in various international markets. This saloon gets subtle design changes, and will be offered in both petrol and hybrid powertrain.

First unveiled at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show in November 2014, the Camry facelift gets minor changes to both exteriors and interiors. Upfront is the all-new grille with a band of chrome on top of it, flanked by revised headlamps with LED daytime running lamps. Also on offer is a new extending nose and re-styled bumper. The changes are very similar to the one found on the new Corolla Altis sedan. At the rear, the sedan gets slightly tweaked tail-lamps with integrated LEDs. There is a thinner chrome strip on the boot lid, which divides the tail-lamp into two parts. The wheel arches of the sedan are likely to be fitted with new alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin of the 2015 Toyota Camry facelift is a new, sporty three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, which comes as a replacement for the four-spoke steering in the current model. The updated centre console gets a new 6.1-inch or 7.0-inch touch-screen for the new multimedia system. It also gets features like a wireless mobile charger, automatic beams, advanced infotainment system, etc.

Under the bonnet is the same old 2.5-litre petrol engine that churns out 179bhp of power and 233Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to the front wheels of the car. The hybrid powertrain, paired to a six-speed CVT gearbox, offer 202bhp of power and 270Nm of torque.
