The Knightracer to infuse life into Maruti Alto K10

A new model of the best selling Maruti Alto K10, known as the K10 Knightracer has been launched towards the end of the year 2012. MSIL (Maruti Suzuki India Limited) would attempt to push the sales of the K10 hatchback through the new vehicle. It is available only in the Lxi variant, carrying a price of Rs. 3.28 lakhs (ex showroom New Delhi).

The new K10 racer will carry the same performance-oriented K-series engine, but it has 11 new features in the interiors and exteriors. On the exterior, these include rear spoiler, body graphics, a left side ORVM (Outside Rear View Mirror), sporty wheel covers and body mouldings. For the interiors, MSIL has provided a JVC music system with MP3 and USB connectivity, a steering wheel cover, rear parcel tray and new Knightracer fabric seat covers. All the additional features have been provided at an additional cost of only Rs. 13,490.

Displaying a sense of confidence with the launch of the new variant, Manohar Bhat, Vice President (VP), Marketing at MSIL said, “The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, since the day of its launch, found immense appreciation amongst the value-conscious young buyers. The Alto K10 Knightracer is a special limited edition that adds to the Alto K10’s appeal with an enhanced style quotient. We are confident that this special edition will bring pride to the select owners.”

Looking at the new variant, it definitely seems to be an attractive buy for young customers in India. At an additional price of just Rs. 13,490, one can definitely say that Maruti's favourite hatchback offers a lot more value-for-money with this car. It is powered by the K-series 1000cc engine, producing 67 bhp of power.
