The World’s cheapest car, Tata Nano, has bagged a gold prize for the Best New Product Segment under the transportation category at the 2010 Edison Awards. Edison Awards are recognised as one of the most prestigious awards in the US to depict persistence and excellence in performance personified as Thomas Alva Edison.
The companies are judged on marketplace innovation, marketplace success, technological innovation, market structure innovation, societal impact and design innovation, said an official statement from Tata Motors.
Tata Motors will roll out the first commercial production of 3500 Nano’s from its mother plant in Sanand, Guajarat on June 02, 2010. The company will be completing its first one lac orders this year and start bookings for the next batch soon.
