      Tata Motors witnesses a 6 per cent growth in its sales in October 2012

      Tata Motors' overall sales of its commercial and passenger vehicles rose by 6 per cent over October 2011 to 71,771 units in October 2012. This includes both the domestic sales as well as those that were exported. Tata's, total domestic sales for commercial and passenger vehicles for October 2012 stood at 68,185 units which was higher by 7 per cent over the same period last year when the auto maker managed to sell 63,837 units.

      Cumulative sales, including those exported, for Tata Motors' for the financial year were 481,668 units, which was higher by 3 per cent over the previous year when it was 467,669 nos.

      Tata's sales for commercial vehicles in October 2012 in the domestic market grew by 21 per cent to 47,026 units, which stood at 38,713 vehicles in October 2011. LCV sales grew by 59 per cent to 34,905 units which was 21,890 vehicles the previous year. M&HCV sales decreased by 28 per cent to 12,121 units which stood at 16,823 vehicles in October last year.

      The overall sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market this financial year stood at 298,532 units, which was higher by 6 per cent over the previous year. Cumulative LCV sales jumped by 24 per cent over last year to 208,715 units, whereas M&HCV sales stood at 89,817 units, which was lower by 21 per cent in comparison to last year.

      Tata Motors' sales of passenger vehicles for October 2012 decreased by 16 per cent to 21,119 units which was 25,124 units in October 2011. Tata Manza Club Class has witnessed a tremendous response, which is now available throughout the country. Tata Safari Storme, too got an overwhelming response and is now available in the NCR region, Chandigarh and Lucknow. Tata Nano sales increased by 4 per cent to 4004 vehicles, which was 3,868 units in October last year. The Indigo range witnessed overall sale of 5,748 units, which was lower by 8 per cent compared to October 2011, when the sales stood at 6,268 units. The Sumo/Safari/Aria/Venture range sales stood at 4,675 units, which was higher by 12 per cent over October 2011, when there was a total sales of 4,176 units.

      Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles grew by 1 per cent to 151,761 units over October 2011 when the overall sales stood at 150,572 units. Cumulative sales of Nano grew by 31 per cent to 43,627 units over 33,245 units sold till October 2011. Cumulative sales of Indica range decreased by 6 per cent over last year to 48,783 vehicles. The cumulative sales of the Indigo family dipped by 23 per cent, over last year to 29,623 units. The cumulative sales of Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range increased by 11 per cent over 2011 to 29,728 units.

      Tata Motors' exports numbers decreased by 13 per cent in 2012 to 3,626 units, which stood at 4,171 vehicles, in October previous year. The cumulative sales from exports for the financial year decreased by 11 per cent to 31,375 units which stood at 35,249 units during the same period last year.
