      Tata Motors to launch Aria facelift next year; 4x4 variant also on cards

      Tata Motors, the homegrown automaker is getting aggressive with its product and dealership expansion strategy for the growing highly competitive market. The company is aiming to triple its sales network in the next 4 years. Not just dealership expansion, the homegrown automaker is also planning to enter some new and growing segments. The company has recently introduced the much-awaited Bolt hatchback, and is also working on two all-new cars under its Kite project. Two new SUVs- Nexon based compact SUV and a larger SUV is also under development. Adding to it, the company is also aiming to refresh its entire lineup. The Safari Storme facelift and Nano facelift are ready to hit Indian roads.

      Last year, Tata Motors launched the cosmetically upgraded Aria in the country. The vehicle gets new headlamps, body graphics, etc. Interestingly, the carmaker has already started working on the Aria facelift (Codenamed Eagle) which is likely to be launched in the Indian market next year. Moreover, the automatic variant of the car is also expected to hit the market this year. The automatic variant of the crossover will be made available on the top-spec Pride 4x4 model.

      At the 2014 Indonesia International Motor Show, Tata Motors showcased the Aria Automatic. The model unveiled was powered by the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel unit, but with higher state of tunes. This engine is tuned to offer slightly higher power output- 156PS and 400Nm instead of the 150PS and 320Nm available with manual variant.
