Tata Motors has reported a positive growth in shares owing to good sales numbers generated by its British wing Jaguar Land Rover. Global sales for JLR in the month of April this year has grown by 30% with 37,171 units being sold. Andy Goss, JLR Group Sales Operations Director said, “April sales continue the positive momentum we saw in the first quarter of 2014. Alongside the F-Type, all three Range Rover models delivered record April sales performances reflecting the global appeal of our strongest ever vehicle line up.”
In the month of April, Jaguar reportedly sold about 5,511 vehicles with about 17% growth year-after-year. The F-Type sold well among the lot. Land Rover has sold about 31,660 vehicles, thereby recording an increase of about 33%. Share prices for the Indian auto giant went up by 1.6% at Rs. 452, whereas the DVR offering has grown up by 3.2% at Rs. 249.
As per company officials, the Range Rover Sport version reported the best sales performance since 2006. As the launch of Tata’s Zest compact sedan and Bolt hatchback inches closer, the company has proclaimed to enhance staff across its dealerships. Tata Motors and its channel partners will recruit around 3,000 employees at the company’s thick dealership network of 200 spread in the country. The new personnel will take up the role of Customer Advisors, Team Leaders and Sales Managers. Candidates will have to undergo aptitude and psychometric tests which are designed by experts. These tests will help to identify candidate’s assimilation towards sales. These skilled employees being hired for the Tata dealerships will introduce customers to the state-of-the-art showroom atmosphere, unforgettable customer experience and after-market service. The revamped dealer and service network will further enhance the customer engagement at the dealerships.
