      Tata brings truck racing to India

      All those racing enthusiasts out there, you now have another category to add to your list, thanks to Tata Motors. The auto giant announced the launch of the 'T1 PRIMA TRUCK RACING CHAMPIONSHIP' in an effort to bring truck racing to India. A first of its kind in the nation, the championship finds a mention on the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) and FMSCI (the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India) calenders too. India's first tryst with the aforementioned form of racing will happen on March 23, 2014 at the Buddh International Circuit, where the Truck Racing Championship will be held.

      Conducted under the aegis of FIA & FMSCI, the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship will feature 12 Tata PRIMA trucks, specially made for the race. These trucks will be manned by experienced international drivers, and will be divided among six teams. Furthermore, the matter of safety and performance standards will be attended to by (MMSCI), in accordance with British Truck Racing Association (BTRA) guidelines.
