      Suzukis Chairman visits MSILs Gurgaon plant

      The Chairman of the Japan based leading car maker Suzuki Motors on Thursday visited two of their India plants including the Gurgaon based mega car manufacturing facility and a two wheeler manufacturing plant. However, Mr. Suzuki is yet to visit the troubled Manesar plant, which was recently opened after being shut down for more than a month. Suzuki is the parent company of India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL).

      Mr. Suzuki is on a weeklong visit of India and is expected to visit the Manesar plant under heavy security. After meeting with the management in the morning, he met workers and their representatives in the evening.

      In a statement given by Suzuki Motorcycle India Employee Union President Anil Kumar to PTI, "Mr Suzuki visited plant in morning and held discussion with management. Though we expected that he would meet workers and union, but he did not. He came here for a very brief period."

      Speaking on the Mr. Suzuki’s Gurgaon plant visit, Maruti Udyog Kamgar Union (MUKU) General Secretary Kuldeep Jhangu told PTI, "Mr Suzuki has just came inside the plant. He will be here till evening. The union will have a meeting with him at 4pm today. We will discuss various issues with him. We will request him to revise our wages which is very necessary in the current inflationary scenario."
