The IndieGoGo campaign for the $500 Storm e-bike has already managed to raise an astonishing $2 Million in just a short span. The concept of e-bike is not new, but the pricing aspect as indeed been a major hindrance for its sales.
The Storm E-bike is stated to be powered by 350-watt motor that is capable of attaining a top speed of about 20 Mph and the vehicle is capable of traveling up to 50 Miles on a single full charge. The lithium-ion battery that powers the bike takes about 90 minutes for a complete recharge. The rugged e-bike sits on 4.8-inch fat tires that support the 45-pound steel chassis. The headset reportedly features all weather alloy with SS sealed bearing technology. For maximum control the bike gets a front disc brake, whereas the fat tire all terrain bike rims sport a metallic finish with chrome spokes.
The price for the Storm e-bike is likely to go higher in the coming days. As for now the company is also shipping the bike at a cost under $200. The bike is expected to retail sometime in early May this year.
