With the launch of this car, the company has offered new option in the market that has best in class fuel efficiency and boasts of a large number of advanced features. The new variant holds a refined 1.5 litre dCi K9K diesel engine that churns out peak power of 108 bhp at 4000 rpm and generates maximum torque at 240 Nm at low 2000 rpm.

In order to improve the performance of this engine, it is supplemented with turbochargers, fuel injectors and a new oil pump. Along with decent power generation capacity, the engine of new Renault Fluence Diesel E4D also delivers unparalleled average of 20.4 kmpl, as per the tests conducted by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). The engine of Fluence will also have the least CO2 emissions, which will make it the most eco friendly car in executive sedan segment.

Although the company has introduced a new diesel engine within its Fluence, the car still lags behind rivals on the grounds of power emissions when compared to its competitors. Other cars of the same segment, such as Skoda Laura generate maximum power of 138 bhp, whereas Chevrolet Cruze churns out 148 bhp, which are significantly more than that of the new Renault Fluence Diesel E4D. Apart from this, the car also has another drawback; the company has a small dealer network in the country, which limits the scope for several customers. Conversely, the company has incorporated a number of advancements within the car, which will lure several auto aficionados to its showrooms.

The new Renault Fluence is equipped with a K9K 896 diesel engine that has a displacement of 1461 cc. In this engine, the company has assimilated a new Variable Geometric Turbo (VGT) technology, which minimises the load losses. Further, Renault has also equipped a Piezo injector within the car, which ensures the accurate spray pattern and adds to its power emission.

Apart from an efficient engine, the car also has new features that add an extra dose of comfort. Renault has designed this car by focussing upon the response it received from its customers. The company has also made a few moderate changes in the interior cabin of Fluence, thus making it more appealing than its siblings.

Features like air conditioning ducts in the rear, leather upholstery, sun blinds at rear and dual zone climate control system are incorporated in the car. The high-end audio system of Fluence now has four speakers, which also features AUX-IN and USB connectivity. Along with such advancements, the car also flaunts high end features like rain sensing wipers, cruise control, automatic light sensing headlamps, parking sensors and automatic light sensing head lights.

Moreover, to ensure a complete safety of its passengers, the engineers at Renault have also paid considerable importance to the vehicular as well as passenger safety. The car includes Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), brake assist and Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) systems. In addition to these advanced safety features, the car also includes standard features like dual front airbags, side airbags for driver as well as front passenger and load limiters, which add to its safety.

With this car, the company will also provide a unique 'Renault Complete Care' to the customers. Buyers availing this package will be provided with a 80,000 km or 4 year warranty, 24/7 Roadside Assistance facility and labour free service after covering 2,000, 10,000 and 20,000 km. The maintenance of Fluence will be performed by COTECH technicians, who have undergone rigorous training at the car maker's French facility.
