      Renault Duster 4x4 expected to be launched in September and may cost about 1 Lakh extra

      Renault Duster has been a belowed compact SUV in the Indian automobile market. News stating that Renault may launch Duster in 4X4 variant had been going around for quite a long time now. As per a new tweat from Rohin Nagrani, Senior Editor of Motoring World, it reads that the 4x4 version of Duster may be launched in September this year. Sources from IAB have also stated that they have received an official confimration that Duster 4X4 version is likely to be rolled out in domestic market by the end of this year. Duster 4X4 variant affixed with Dacia badge is manufactured at the company’s manufacturing plant located in Chennai from where it is shipped to other countries. For now, the company might first launch diesel trim of the SUV in India since the demand for diesel powered vehicles is more in India. The 4X4 variant is expected to be priced about Rs. 1 Lakh extra and shall be positioned above the top-of-the-line trim in the Duster range.

      Currently in the Indian market, Renault Duster is available in 1.6 Litre Petrol engine and two 1.5 Litre Diesel variants. The petrol version generates about 104 Hp at 5,850 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 145 Nm at 3,750 rpm. One of the diesel version is powered by 1461cc engine that generates about 85PS of power at 3750 rpm with 200 Nm of torque at 1900 rpm, whereas another diesel version is also powered by 1461cc engine but generates a little extra power of 110 PS at 3900 rpm with 248 Nm of torque at 2250 rpm. The powerful diesel version is mated to a six speed manual transmission, whereas the other two are mated to a five speed manual transmission. The Duster SUV from Renault offered at a starting price tag of Rs. 7.78 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi).      

      Lodgy MPV could be the new offering in Renault line-up which is expected to be longer than Mobilio MPV, but might measure shorter than Innova. The MPV is already in sale in other international markets, in India the company is likely to bring petrol and diesel variants of the MPV. The suavely designed MPV is expected to be priced aggressively for the domestic market which means it could be a potential threat for the rest of vehicles in its segment.
