Competition in the two wheeler segment in India has grown stronger with time. Yamaha, the Japanese bike-maker had recently unveiled new interesting colors options for the for the FZ series being sold in India. Technical specifications for the bikes had been left untouched, the changes are purely cosmetic in nature. Yamaha has been one among the most preferred brands in the country. The bike-maker has not just been popular in local market, but also has been widely accepted in international markets.
Recently pictures have emerged on the Internet hinting on a possible launch of a powerful FZ version. The bike is expected to be powered by 170cc engine that has been mated to a five speed gearbox. It is anticipated that the bike may generate about 17 Ps of power. Earlier this year, Yamaha had showcased a concept version of next-generation FZ bikes, the designing cues on the upcoming bike seems to have have borrowed some of those. The bike sports a leaner frame as compared to the existing version. The exhaust is a bit longer and gets a stylish end. The grab rail carries a new split design and the rear tyre gets a longer hugger. At the back, tail lamps has received some cosmetic upgrades that is well complimented with a new number plate holder. The instrument cluster is all-digital now.
The current version of Fz bike is powered by 153 cc, Air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC engine that generates about 14 Ps of power with 13.6 Nm of torque. The powerful engine is mated to a five speed gearbox. The rear wheel is blessed with Monocross suspension unit that provides with 120 mm of wheel travel for maximum comfort and balance, whereas the front gets telescopic fork. The powerful engine breathes to life right from the moment the rider hits on electric start button or kick starts it the traditional way. The bike gets a wide radial tyre for the rear for maximum traction and control at all speeds and conditions. The Yamaha FZ-S is available in shades of Preying Red, Pouncing Black and Hawk-Eye Gold.
Yamaha has not spoken in detail about the Fz 170cc motorcycle. A detailed report on the technical specification may be received only post an official launch made by the company. The bike is expected to be priced a little over the existing version. As per sources, the bike shall be be up for grabs sometime in August this year.
