      Porsche launches Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS in India

      Porsche India has launched two models, Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS, which is the first time that the firm has extended the principle to its two cars. The GTS (Gran Turismo Sport) is a series that stands for outstanding performance, which is mainly due to the top class engines along with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) chassis.

      The designs of these two cars feature unique front and rear ends. Along with this, the new models have blackened bi-xenon headlights and tail-lights. As far as the mechanics are concerned, both Boxster and Cayman GTS have engines based on the 3.4-litre powertrains, which have been tuned to deliver extra output and torque. Porsche Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS produce a maximum power output of 330 bhp and 340 bhp, respectively. In terms of the torque, both models get extra 10 Nm as compared to their standard models.

      Porsche Boxster GTS can reach 100 kmph from scratch in around 4.7 seconds and further clocks a top speed of 279 kmph. On the other hand, the Cayman GTS can reach 100 kmph from 0 kmph in 4.6 seconds and its top speed is 283 kmph. As per the New European Driving Cycle, Porsche claims that this car can deliver a fuel economy of 12 kmpl.

      Speaking on the occasion, Anil Reddi, the Director of Porsche India, said, "With the introduction of the GTS versions of the Boxster and Cayman, we are catering to Porsche purists and true sports car enthusiasts in the country. These two new Porsche sports cars excel visually and dynamically, and assure a rewarding ownership and driving experience." Porsche Boxster and Cayman GTS have ex-showroom (Delhi) prices of Rs.1.15 crore and Rs. 1.17 crore, respectively.
