Peel Engineering Limited (PEL), the makers of world's smallest car 'Peel' have been enthralling and intriguing the worldwide audience with their state-of-the-art innovation.

The Peel boasts of a size no bigger than a 56 inch LCD television and has an honourable mention in the Guinness Book Of Records as being the 'Worlds Smallest Production Car of all time.' The USP of the wondrous little piece of automobile engineering, is the easy parking that comes along with it. The homunculus car has unbelievable exterior dimensions of 52.8 inches length, 39 inches width, 47.2 inches height, besides a wheelbase of just 50 inches thereby, putting your living room television to shame.

The Peel can seat one person plus a shopping bag and can fit in an average ten people lift easily. Evidently, the midget car proves to be a real asset when stuck in traffic as with a curb weight of just 59 kilograms, one can easily get out and pull the car through the jam like a trolley. Further, in the event of a breakdown two persons can easily lift the Peel and bring it home like any other box.

Termed as a micro car, the Peel comes fitted with a small meagre four stroke, 49 cc motor that rolls out a maximum torque of 3.35 bhp. The engine comes mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system.

The Peel was originally made in the 1960s on the Isle of Man and was the brainchild of Cyril Cannell, a serial inventor and owner of the then called - Peel Engineering Company. Cannell wanted to create an exceptionally small vehicle capable of travelling at 60 kmph, while comfortably seating one adult carrying an average briefcase. At present, the Peel P50 is produced in limited numbers by PEL in the United Kingdom.
