Nissan Micra is ready to hit the Indian roads soon. Nissan Motors has already shipped a test consignment of six Nissan Micra to Spain. The same model is ready to be rolled out on Indian roads as well. Nissan Motors intends to make India as exports hub for small cars for the company. It will export its small cars from India to nearly 100 countries including Middle East, Africa and European nations. "Trial transportation for exports is a very important milestone for us as we gear up for exports to Europe from second half of 2010," said Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director, Nissan Motors.
Nissan is expected to introduce its small car Micra in the domestic market in June first week. Nissan will introduce only petrol model initially and plans to roll out a diesel model looking at the market response. The petrol model will be powered by 1.2L 3-cylinder engine producing 80bhp powe. The diesel variant is expected to feature 1.5L TDCi engine delivering 65 bhp. The engine is currently present in Mahindra Renault Logan entry level sedan model.
