      Nissan India emerges as a strong brand with 24% growth

      Japanese automaker Nissan has been struggling for a while to gain a good footing in India and with the latest update, it seems like it is indeed growing well in the Indian market. Nissan Motor company has reported a positive growth of about 24.2% with about 47,474 units as against 38,220 units noted in the same period last year.

      Speaking more more on the occasion, Guillaume Sicard, president, Nissan India operations, said, “We are pleased with the progress we demonstrated in our 10th year in India. FY 14 has been a significant year when we re-established our India business with an independent sales and marketing organization. The growth we achieved was supported by the launch of two new models and fastest growing network. As we set ourselves a target of five percent market share by FY20, we are focused on sustaining and accelerating our performance.”

      Commenting more on the occasion, Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd, added, “2014 saw a huge focus on sales and marketing activities. Our sales network grew to 176 outlets with 60 outlets added in FY14.” The brand is expected to further grow strongly with Datsun Go+ steadily gaining popularity in India.
