The next-generation of the Bentley Continental GT has been spotted testing in cabriolet guise. We can see from the pictures that a lot of the design philosophy has been taken from the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car that was showcased in 2015.
It appears to be lower, longer and obviously sportier than the current model and will probably make its debut sometime in 2019. Bentley has retained its iconic face thanks to the large headlamps and grille but the rear end is completely new thanks to the wider body and heavily flared wheel arches.
This new car will be underpinned by a new platform that is currently present in the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga and the soon to be launched second generation Porsche Panamera. Our sources suggest that a change in its construction materials will allow this Continental GT in both coupe and cabriolet form to drop a 100kgs from its kerb weight.
We believe that it will be offered with the same set of engines and gearboxes as the current car albeit in a higher state of tune. Apart from the current lot there is also expected to be at least one hyb rid and full electric model for the range.
