The 2014 Auto Expo held earlier had witnessed an impressive display from TVS Motors as a number of its models were unveiled here. Among them was TVS Scooty Zest, which is supposed to be a modification of TVS Scooty, an extremely popular vehicle in India, especially among female riders. It is expected that the scooter will soon be available in the market, much to the pleasure of those who were looking forward to its launch. TVS had taken a cue from the onlookers at the Expo held earlier in Delhi and decided to launch the Zest early, sometime after the summers.
What set apart the Zest from its predecessors, Scooty Pep+ and Scooty Streak, are its bolder and stylish looks, as well as its power. An all-new 110 cc CVT-i single cylinder, air-cooled, carburetted engine, which generates a power of 8 BHP with a torque of 8 Nm, has been installed in the scooter. It will boast an automatic transmission. The same engine is used to power larger gear-less TVS variants like Jupiter and Wego. Apart from this classy engine, Zest is also set to possess a path-breaking mileage of 62 kmpl after its launch.
The looks of this chic model is something to boast off with a signature headlight and flush-fitted blinkers on a double-tone front apron. The brand logo on a stylish black panel just adds on to the outlook of the model. An odometer, fuel gauge and a large speedometer is dexterously placed on the instrument cluster, which has a white finishing. A single bag hook is placed beneath the handlebar and the white-stitched saddle to enhance its looks. Revised accents have been elegantly utilised to give the side body panels a slick appearance. A new LED tail lamp and indicator setup along with a gaudy rear end fits in beautifully to increase the appeal of TVS Zest. With a wider and longer saddle, the model is fitted with a handy and stylish allow grab rail.
With this model expected to set the streets on fire within a short period, it is expected that the price range of Zest will be quite competitive and take on the likes of Hero Pleasure. Together with the Jupiter 110, TVS Zest is something that the 2-wheeler giant will look forward to regain the apex position in the market that it once enjoyed.
