The Centuro from Mahindra, a renowned two-wheeler manufacturer in India, has been quite a success story. The maker now aims to grab a hold in the scooter section with a 110 cc model all set to hit the streets. Mahindra has been careful enough to keep the model under suspense; however roving eyes have been attracted towards it as the company decided to test it on the road yet again. Internally codenamed G101, this scooter was recently spotted on the streets and is expected to be launched soon in the Indian market. With this effort, it is quite clear that Mahindra is aiming to grab a larger hold of the two-wheeler market in India that is currently dominated by popular models like Honda Activa and Hero Pleasure.

The one that was caught testing on the roads had been smartly camouflaged and hence, not many details could be made out. However, some features like lighter weight and low seat height have inclined that the G101 might be targeted towards the female riders in the nation. The front apron is lavishly equipped with the faux air intakes and indicators. What appeared from the spy shots was that the instrument cluster was more of an analogue unit. The fuel indicator and speedometer will feature an analogous model combined with a quadrilateral display comprising the head lamp and blinkers on the side. A telescopic suspension at the front was also spotted and the rear side has a tail lamp with integrated brake lamp and indicators. It might have been inspired by the Rodeo tail display in shape. Instead of using alloys, the wheels of G101 have been spotted with steel rims, indicating towards the fact that the model might have a lower priced lesser featured variant, as well.

Mahindra has done well to keep the specifications of this model under suspense but it is believed that G101 will be powered by the similar 110 cc Centuro engine. It is estimated that the chic scooter will be capable enough to produce a power of 8.38 BHP along with 8.5 Nm of torque. It might feature an automatic transmission unit, thus showing the manufacturer’s effort to grab a better position in the market as far as two wheelers are concerned. With the tests being carried out in full tandem, it is expected that the official launch of Mahindra G101 is slated for some time soon.
