Indian luxury car segment is ready to witness new SUV entrants in the country. Nearly every luxury car maker including BMW, Audi, Land Rover, Toyota and Volkswagen plans a slew of premium SUVs in India. Today, India is the second world’s fastest growing car market after China. Now auto makers are planning to assemble these premium models in India rather than importing them as completely built unit which makes them twice as costly.

“Local production will help us to launch our compact SUV Yeti with all top-end luxury features at a highly competitive price. We have finalised plans to roll out Yeti from our Aurangabad plant,” Skoda Auto India board member Thomas Kuehl said.
