      Called as a monarch of luxury cars by worldwide media and also termed as an epitome of styling by auto connoisseurs, the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been finally launched in the Indian auto market. It is hard to digest after such huge appreciations that Mercedes-Benz S-Class is just an automobile that features some exclusive provisions. Yes, the optimal sedan for elite consumers has been launched on January 8 with a price tag of Rs. 1.57 crore.       The ceremony was conducted at ITC Maurya, New Delhi and present during the jubilant occasion were Mercedes-Benz India's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Eberhard Kern along with media personal and celebrities. Kern exultantly said, "We are launching the all new S-Class in India just three months after its global launch in October last year, following up on eight new products we launched in 2013 here.” He also divulged that initially, the car will be brought via Completely Built Unit (CBU) route.

      All new Mercedes-Benz S-Class marked the advent of its top-end variant S500, which will be later joined with S350. S500 is incorporated with a 4.6-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine that churns out a mammoth power output of 460 bhp and peak torque of 700 Nm. It is coupled with the company's 7G-Tronic plus automatic transmission. Also, the 4-MATIC all wheel drive system employed by the company helps the car to easily glide through wet and snowy roads, without losing any grip. Enhanced AIRMATIC suspension and Direct-Steer system help the new S-Class to move swiftly and keep it stable on high speeds.

      At interiors, superior quality leather upholstery resembles to that of a 7-star hotel's luxury suites. Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive system works as a vultures eye, covering the 360 degree area of the car and assisting in parking. Also, the camera at frond windscreen keeps a track of commuters and vehicles ahead of car and prevents any adversary from occurring. A unique feature of Air Balance is provided that permeates the 2014 S-Class with a sweet fragrance. Multimedia system is assisted with 24 high quality Burmester speakers, creating a 3D surround sound.

      Interestingly, 7 colour modes of LED ambient lighting provides a warm welcome to the passenger, as soon as the door is opened. Safety features manifold in this car, ranging from adaptive brake with hill-start assist, adaptive LED brake light to active lane keeping assist and night view assist plus for a smooth driving experience. Furthermore, any dreadful incident can be easily prevented with the features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Acceleration Skid Control (ASR), collision prevent assist, airbags, sidebags and window bags at both front and rear seats.

      Within the range of Rs. 1.57 crore, Mercedes-Benz S-Class seems an optimal choice for niches of the society. Company is claiming that it has received 30,000 pre-bookings of its latest creation, globally and the bookings of second batch will commence from April 2014. Auto experts are largely believing that this car will redefine the whole luxury segment and in the coming time, it will be arduous for other companies to square off against such modish innovations. All in all, the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a unique fusion of opulence, superior safety and utmost driving pleasure.
