Audi has lifted cover off its A8L tweaked variant at a grand event organized in Dubai. The lavish launch ceremony was attended by who’s who belonging to different fraternities. Audi has proclaimed price of the basic version, A8L 3.0 litre TDi trim, which is available for sale at Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai). Audi A8L facelift will be available in India as a completely built unit, hence justifying the high price tag that the beautiful vehicle is being offered at. Prominent change made by Audi in new A8L is availability of tuned engines that have been revised to deliver enhanced efficiency.
The car flaunts few cosmetic changes along with minor design changes that include optional Matrix LED head lights in the front, classier cabin and revivified dampers enabling increased ride quality. Mr. Joe King, Head, Audi India was present during the launch event, he stated that in wake of upping the luxury quotient a notch higher for the customers in India, the company is proffering customization options. Under this the customers have the liberty to choose exterior colour of their choice from over 100 options, to make the cabin plusher Audi is offering 23 colour options and 12 wood finish options to choose from. This isn't it, customers can also get embossed their personal logo on the seats of new Audi A8L. Now this is something that can excite the luxury fanatics.
As mentioned in the beginning, the major highlight of the tweaked A8L is the availability of revamped engine line-up that promises to return improved efficiency and increased power output. India-spec model of A8L will be offered in two diesel engine options that comprise of 250 PS, 3.0 litre, TDi diesel powertrain and a 4.2 litre TDi motor will also be offered that engenders a pinnacle power output of 385PS. A petrol variant equipped with a 435 PS, 4.0 litre TFSI motor will also be available. An eight-speed Triptronic automatic transmission will be paired with all three engines.
