MRF introduces new tyres for KTM Duke 390 and RC390 bikes

Tyre manufacturing giant MRF has launched Revz-FC1 and Revz-C1, tyres for bike models KTM Duke 390 and RC390. The sizes of these tyres are exact as the Pirelli Metzler Sportec ones that come fitted in the models. Though there are several similarities between Revz-FC1 & Rev-C1 and Revz-FC & Revz-C, the deeper grooves present at the extreme edges lend extra ability to the former pair. MRF, a Chennai-based firm, provides stock tyres for Duke 200 and RC200 models but KTM has entered a partnership with Pirelli for import of tyres. Despite being high in quality, the Pirelli tyres are not customer favourites, mainly due to their colossal prices and relatively short lifespan.

The front Revz-FC1 and Revz-C1 tyres have measurements of 110/70/17 and 150/60/17, respectively. Available as a set, these tyres are priced at INR 6285, which is a huge INR 10000 less than the Metzler Sportec pair from Pirelli. Although MRF cannot match the quality of the tyres from the Italian manufacturer but the drop in price is likely to attract a large a number of buyers.

Pirelli, according to sources, is in the process of developing a new tyre set for bikes Duke 390 and RC390. The major difference between the current set of tyres and the ones being developed is the maximum handling speed, which will be lesser in the new set (230 kmph from 270 kmph).
