Mercedes Benz, the Germany based leading luxury car maker, is all set to launch the production version of cars running on Hydrogen Fuel cells in next three years. At present, the engineers of the German auto giant are working on a proto type of these cars.

The cars that run on Hydrogen fuels are believed to be the most environment friendly machines ever as the only thing these car leave as residue is water. But the hydrogen fuel run cars are very prone to explosion as even a minimal impact can prove dangerous for the car. This is the reason why car makers around the world have refrained from building cars on these technologies. One more challenge for hydrogen fuel run cars are the availability of the hydrogen filling stations as it is dangerous to store hydrogen.

However, due to a series of improvements in the technology and new stronger and lightweight material, the making of safer hydrogen fuel-run cars looks feasible.

Mercedes Benz had recently manufactured prototypes of B Class hatchback that is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. The company has driven the car around the world, in a bid to prove to people that the car is safe to drive in any conditions.
