Mercedes Benz will launch yet another AMG variant, ‘CLA 45 AMG’ in India at a grand event organized at Buddh International Circuit tomorrow. Unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year in February, the saloon gun straight against the upcoming Audi A3 sedan. Mercedes Benz has already updated details on the CLA45 AMG on its official website. Bookings for the saloon began a while ago cross the country at authorized dealerships at a token of amount of Rs 1 lakh, however deliveries are likely to begin effective August. Underpinning the A-Class platform, CLA45 AMG saloon has largely borrowed styling components from A45 AMG. Mercedes Benz will bring CLA45 AMG in India through CBU route (Completely Built Unit), hence the vehicle will attract hefty excise duties levied on CBUs and is expected to be priced between Rs 60 lakh to Rs 65 lakh.
Under the hood will be a 2.0 litre, direct injection turbo-petrol engine that belts out a maximum power output of 355 Bhp along with a peak torque of 450 Nm. The 2.0 litre engine enables the vehicle to rush from zilch to 100 kmph within 4.6 seconds and attains top speed of 250 kmph. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox is mated to the engine that transmits power to all four wheels through Mercdes’ 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. Mercedes has well equipped CLA45 AMG with aplenty safety features including nine airbags, adaptive brake with hold function and attention assist.
