Maruti Suzuki aims to inaugurate 250 Nexa dealerships in India by the end of next fiscal year. The company recently completed opening 100 Nexa outlets in the country.

Partho Banerjee, senior VP, Nexa Channel for Maruti Suzuki, said that the company is being selective at opening these premium dealerships in specific regions across India. At the 100th Nexa dealership opening in Mumbai, he confirmed that the manufacturer will set up Nexa outlets in cities where they find a demand for premium cars.

The company has tasted a fair bit of success with the Nexa chain as more than 40,000 cars have been sold till date through this medium. These outlets were set up only to sell premium cars from the carmaker's portfolio. They will continue with this plan as the demand for premium cars is picking up. In fact, the carmaker is expecting the Nexa channel to add to 15-17 per cent of their total sales.

Maruti Suzuki started operations at the Nexa facilities in July last year with the S-Cross being the first vehicle to be offered through this chain. This was followed by the Baleno, and soon the carmaker will start selling the upcoming Ignis crossover and the refreshed Ciaz through this channel. Both the vehicles are expected to be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo next month and will be launched in the due course of the year.
