Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country’s largest passenger car maker, has introduced a limited edition model of Eeco, named Eeco Smiles at an enticing price of Rs. 3.32 lakh (ex showroom, Mumbai). It must be noted that the model has just received few cosmetic changes, whereas its engine has been kept same. This limited edition model of Eeco features wheel covers and mud flaps, along with decals of 'Smiles' at the rear and its side profile.

Coming at the interiors of the newly launched model, the auto maker has equipped a new 2 DIN music system with USB connectivity, dual tone upholstery and new doormats. Interestingly, all these advancements deliver a warm welcome to its occupants. It must be noted that the interested buyers have to pay an additional amount of around Rs. 9500 to get all the above mentioned features over the actual price of Maruti Suzuki Eeco. On this pricing, industry experts are of a view that this deal from the auto maker is really a proposal to think upon.

The technical figures of Eeco states that the model has been equipped with a 1.2 litre petrol engine, which generates a maximum power of 73 bhp with a highest torque of 101 Nm. Along with these outputs, the model also returns an impressive fuel efficiency of around 14 kmpl, which is quite impressive in this segment. Moreover, buyers can also demand this model with a CNG kit being fitted by the Maruti Suzuki. The CNG option of Maruti Suzuki Eeco delivers an overwhelming fuel efficiency of 20km/kg, which also reduces the running cost of the vehicle.

On this new launch, few auto analysts also said that the Maruti Suzuki is still continuing with great optimism in 2013 after witnessing the economic slowdown and muted market conditions. Launching a new variant of Eeco is not the first move of Maruti Suzuki to boost its sales in the Indian auto market as the auto maker was earlier offering its Swift diesel hatchback without any waiting period. Besides, the auto company was also offering its Ritz hatchback with a discounted price of up to Rs. 45,000 in order to lure a large number of buyers across its stand.
