India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India is mulling upon expanding its wings by exporting its cars to untapped markets, around the globe, in order to cushion the blows of decreasing demand in the country. Recently, R.C. Bhargava, Board Member, MSI, stated that the company is unlikely to register a growth in sales this fiscal; however a break even figure was not ruled out completely.

Maruti car sales have been bearing the brunt of frequent revisions in fuel prices and interest rates, along with disturbances at the manufacturing unit in Manesar. In a bid to put back the sales figures on track, Maruti Suzuki has decided to foray into all-new auto markets around the world. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to launch advanced and improved variants of its cars in India, for the purpose of attracting customers with weak sentiments. These upcoming variants would possibly be backed by engines that will have CNG and LPG fuel options.

As a matter of fact, the other car manufacturers in India are fishing in troubled waters, with plans of expansion and experimentation topping the to-do list. This would further hurt the sales figures of Maruti Suzuki in the country.

At present, the small car segment has welcomed cars hailing from each and every car maker in the market. Subsequently, the Maruti Suzuki woes refuse to die out, making it impossible for the company to increase its share. Hyundai, which is considered among the closest rivals of Maruti, launched Eon small car that would directly confront the highest selling car in India, Alto.

Thus, with plans of expanding its export ambit in the market, Maruti would be taking another desperate step to keep itself afloat amidst detrimental trends knocking its doors now and then.
