Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), country's largest passenger car maker, has announced its plans to introduce a freshly juiced up limited edition version of its popular car, WagonR hatchback from next year. From the business point of view, the step seems pretty legitimate as the competition is very intense in the entry-level small car segment with most of the auto makers going great lengths to please customers by announcing goodies and freebies on their vehicles. Owing to the sluggish sales, most of the car makers are really apprehensive and determined to make sure they do not reprise their previous mistakes, which impacted their sales. The plan to refurbish WagonR sales by announcing its refreshed limited edition version seems like a very thoughtful initiative by the Maruti Suzuki.

Industry experts believe that the upcoming WagonR Pro carries a cool quotient, which is complemented by its vibrant body graphics. However, the standing out features packed within the limited edition model are its brand new Double-DIN audio system, which is compatible with a USB slot and combined with four way 16 cm wide speakers. The plush new interiors will feature beige-coloured floor mats as well as beige and black upholstery.

The limited edition WagonR Pro will also boasts of some enticing exterior modifications like comfortable wheel covers and redesigned bumper mouldings. Also, the upcoming limited edition model will feature a roof mounted spoiler, adding to its sporty feel.

As mentioned above, the expected price of WagonR Pro will be Rs. 20,000 higher than the price of its standard – LX, LXi, VXi and Duo (LPG and CNG) variants. The added features equipped within the car amounts to Rs. 30,000 and hence, the extra goodies are offered at a discount of Rs. 10,000. It would be quite interesting to see how the Indian buyers respond to the MSIL's new strategy.

Termed as the company's first ever 'Tall Boy' model, WagonR is counted among the most popular hatchbacks from MSIL. Launched in December 1999, the car was mainly brought to the Indian auto market to take head on the likes of Hyundai Santro. And apparently, the auto maker is able to outpace the Hyundai’s much-acclaimed model by incorporating an impressive line-up of engines in its WagonR series, which are powerful and fuel efficient as well.

A new addition in portfolio will only strengthen the company's already consolidated place in the industry and could act as a safeguard for its foreseen growth charts. The new WagonR Pro also brings along with it a good promise for company's efforts towards retaining its faithful customers and solidifying its market position.
