      Maruti looks forward to enhance foot prints in the rural market

      The India auto giant Maruti Suzuki, which is the largest car maker in the Indian market, in looking forward towards rural market to boost their sales in the country. In last three months, the company has opened as many as 23 new sales outlets across towns to make the most of the high growth potential exist in the rural market.

      The company is witnessing a considerable growth in the rural market with sales surging 55% in the month of June. At present, Maruti’s sales is at an all time high in the rural segment with overall market share of 33 percent as compared to just 3 percent in year 2007-08. The company sold a total of 23,000 cars in the rural market which are with human settlement of around 10,000.

      In a recent statement, Maruti managing executive office (marketing & sales) Mayank Pareek, said, "Now, we have a reasonable base of rural sales and the 55% jump epitomizes the strength of the Indian hinterland markets and villages. We are developing new markets and generating customers who have never used cars in these smaller towns to generate long-term competitive advantage."
