The most awaited car from Maruti is finally set to be launched in 19th November in India. The car is a hatchback model that has been designed for the global markets. It will help Suzuki to re-enter the European markets with a new fuel efficient car powered by an eco-friendly engine that complies with Euro IV and Euro V emission norms.
The car will be presented as Maruti A-Star in India. The new Maruti A-Star marks the launch of the new KB series engines also in India. The expected price of this car is Rs. 3.85 lakh.
Maruti also plans to develop a completely new model by 2011 that will be designed and developed entirely in India by the Indian engineering team. The model of Maruti A-Star was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year.
The new Maruti A-Star will have a 3-cylinder 12 valve MPFI unit that generates 67PS of peak power at 6200rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3500rpm. Its dimensions are quite similar to its rival Hyundai i10. Both the cars compete in the same segment with fuel efficient engines. Hyundai i10 has the K-series engine that is acclaimed around the world as the most fuel efficient engine. The new Maruti Suzuki A-Star will be available in thee variants – Lxi, Vxi, and Zxi.
