Mahindra & Mahindra, the largest utility vehicle maker in the Indian auto market, has decided to re-open the bookings of its high-in-demand sports utility vehicle –XUV 500 – for a limited period of 10 days. The company announced on Monday that it will re-open bookings of XUV500 from 25th January for a limited period of just 10 days. It is to be mentioned here that M&M was forced to suspend the bookings of this new age SUV due to a staggering response from the buyers in the country.
The company has further said that if the bookings of this model exceed 7,200 units, the allotment of the vehicle will be done through a draw.
In a recent statement, M&M Senior Vice President (Automotive Division Marketing), Vivek Nayer, said in a statement, "To ensure that our customers do not have to wait beyond a reasonable period, we are undertaking an XUV500 draw, which will ensure fair and transparent allotment of the vehicle to our customers who get selected in the draw."
For the booking application form, the customers have to pay a sum of Rs 80,000 initially. The company will announce the lucky- owners of the XUV500 on 15th February. Moreover, this time around, the company has included 19 additional cities in the booking including Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, Kozhikode, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Patiala, Trissur, Nagpur, Nasik and Trivandrum.
