The Indian auto giant Mahindra & Mahindra launched its latest 4X4 sensation Thar CRDe in the state of Kerala on Thursday. The BS-IV variant of Thar has been priced at Rs 6.11 lakh (ex-showroom price) in Kochi.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Behram Dhabher, General Manager at M&M (Vehicle Development) told reporters that Kerala has been the largest markets for the vehicles like Thar and the company was totally geared to meet any requirements. He added, “The Thar aims to play a significant role in shaping the lifestyle vehicle segment both in urban and rural India. Consumers are looking for a different lifestyle as they seek adventure and a fun experience which the vehicle will offer.”
Mahindra Thar CRDe comes powered by a 2498cc turbocharged engine that is capable of a peak power of 105 hp at 3800 rpm and also a peak torque of 247 Nm at 1800-2000 rpm. To handle this excess power, Thar CRDe has been blessed with a tough rigid ladder frame chassis that has been optimized to enable crisp handling.
The model is currently available in a number of Indian cities including Mumbai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Bangalore, Kochi, Mangalore and Kolkatta. Mahindra Thar would be launched in the rest of India by the end of this month.
