The Mahindra Marazzo is now available in the Indian car market across four variants, one engine and gearbox option and six colours. It’s a new MPV from the Indian automaker and has been brought in to take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda BR-V and the Renault Lodgy. Here then, is how the Marrazo stands up to its rivals.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The Mahindra Marrazo’s main rival is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. There’s going to be a new one within the next few months but even then it’s the first car that most people will GO to when you look at the Marazzo in terms of competition. In the current generation, the Ertiga is a bit behind in terms of features and overall space. However, it has the added advantage of having a petrol trim and an AT option for the vehicle. Mahindra has said that it will, over the course of the next year, bring out a petrol powered model as well as AT option for the Marrazo.
Honda BR-V
The Honda BR-V is the Japanese automaker’s budget seven-seat option. It replaced the Mobilio in 2016 but has not exactly set the sales charts on fire. It’s marginally smaller than the Marazzo but still offers space for seven. The top-of-the-line Marrazo offers significantly higher number of features as compared to the top spec BR-V. However, the BR-V, like the Ertiga, has the advantage of both a petrol engine option as well as an AT on offer. In terms of pricing the BR-V tops out significantly higher than the Marrazo.
Renault Lodgy
This is perhaps the other large vehicle in the fray. The Renault Lodgy like the Ertiga has been around for a while but it was launched at a time when there was a jump from MUVs to SUVs. The Lodgy does offer nearly everything that the Marrazo has in terms of features and is only marginally smaller than the Mahindra vehicle. The Lodgy, like the Marrazo has only diesel power and no AT option.
