      M&M sales jump 20 percent in Feb 2011

      The country’s largest utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra said on Tuesday that its sales figures have jumped 19.66 per cent during the month of February 2010. The company sold a total of 33,378 units of its vehicles in the country during the month as compared to 27,894 units sold in the same month preceding year.

      In the domestic market, the auto maker registered a sales jump of 20.27 per cent during this month. The company sold 31,967 units of its vehicles in the Indian market during this month as compared to 26,580 units sold in the same period last year.

      The total sales of company’s utility vehicles, including Scorpio, Xylo, Bolero and Pick-Ups surged by 11.51 per cent to 14,288 units as compared to 12,813 units sold in the same month last year.

      The sales of company’s only passenger car – Mahindra Logan – stood at 1,151 units during the month as against 537 units sold in the same month last year.

      According to company, the sales of three-wheelers and Gio and Maxximo mini-trucks jumped by 57.24 per cent to 5,725 units during February 2011, as compared to 3,641 units during the same month last year.
