Slowly but surely, the effects of the increase in excise duties have started showing up; and it is definitely something that the automobile and bike enthusiasts would not have liked. Now, the renowned Austrian manufacturer KTM has increased the prices of its entire range of its products. The hike ranges from four per cent for the RC390 and goes up to almost 5.5 per cent on Duke 200.

The RC390 was initially launched on a price of 2.05 lakhs INR, where the price has now been increased to 8000 INR. The bike now comes at an introductory price of 2.12 lakhs INR. The smaller sibling comes at 1.66 lakhs INR, which was initially launched at 1.60 lakhs INR. The price hike was also effective on Duke 390 and 200, which will be expensive by 8000 and 7190 INR, respectively.

The price jump in the RC models is quite nominal, but there has been quite a hike in the Duke ones. Definitely, when we compare the base rates of the models, the jump in Duke is increasingly evident. Well, now that the excise duties have significantly been hiked, we can expect one or two more companies to bring about a hike in their product line.
