      Porsche sells 189,850 cars to record 17 per cent growth

      Porsche, one of the most renowned automobile brands in the world, has recorded sales of a total of 189850 new cars in 2014. This is a statistical figure and is nearly 17 per cent hike from the previous year. The Stuttgart car maker also established another record by breaking the 20000 units mark in the month of December 2014. The car manufacturer has sold 20644 units first time in this month. Porsche also sold its models in all regions with the United States of America topping the list. It recorded about 47000 cars in the whole year. The Chinese market recorded the largest growth with an increase of 25 per cent with a sale of 46931 units.

      The new generation Cayenne has recorded almost double sales in China with December 2014 as compared to December 2013 by a margin of 6400 units. Porsche Macan sold around 45000 units during the first year after its launch. Among these people, 75 per cent of them were first-time owners. This car maker has delivered almost 13 per cent more Panamera saloons last year. With more than 30000 units of 911, the sports model ranks higher than the previous year.

      Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche A.G., said, “For the fourth record year in a row there are very specific reasons: fascinating products and highly motivated employees. On top of that, our brand experienced an additional upswing in 2014 as a result of the successful launch of the Macan. Worldwide, seventy-five per cent of Macan customers were first-time buyers of a Porsche car.”
